Who actually makes the business checks we all need?
Here are the popular financial and check printers who actually sell, manufacture and ship checks to the business to small business (B2SB), business to business and the bank/credit union markets.
Business Checks Unlimited
As the first major direct-mail check printer, Checks Unlimited was established in 1986 and has become America’s leading direct-to-consumer checks provider. You can’t go wrong with the Business Products Division of Checks Unlimited – they guarantee it.
Carousel Checks
Carousel Checks serves the general consumer and the business checks market. They have been manufacturing a wide variety of quality business checks to fit the needs of most small and larger businesses.
Deluxe
Offering more than just checks, Deluxe offers other innovative business products to help their small business customers acquire customers and build their brand. Visit Deluxe if you need ancillary forms for your business.
Harland Clarke
Harland Clarke primarily manufactures business checks and supplies for large business and banks and credit unions. The products they offer directly to consumers are through their “Checks in the Mail” online store. Link: Business products at Checks in the Mail.
Why buy directly from one of these check printers and manufacturers?
If you order at your bank – that bank DOES NOT print the checks for you. They order online and have your checks printed and delivered, either to your bank’s branch or drop-shipped to your business. For this service you will (usually) pay high retail rates.
You can – and should – order your own checks online. It takes no longer than ordering from you bank and usually take much less time. You also cut out the “middle man” in the process. When you reorder business checks from one of the sources (above) you will likely save time and a good bit of money and that will help your business bottom line.
If you are a brand new business or expanding to something new – do it yourself and save. One easy way to get started is with a packaged set of Entrepreneur Checks from Checks Unlimited or Deluxe. These sets contain a basic order of 3-to-a-page checks, a checks binder, deposit slips and (often) a self-inking endorsement stamp. Another option is to start with a basic order of Deskset Checks that will help you keep costs to a minimum.
